Testing burglar-resistant building components under static load according to EN 1628 is the first of three test methods that the component must undergo. In this process， the test specimen is tested at various loading points (sash/leaf corners， filling corners and locking devices) using pressure pads and gap gauges.

The second test method for determining resistance under dynamic load according to EN 1629 is a pendulum test with a 50 kg dual tyre impactor. The pendulum test is performed at different drop heights according to the desired resistance class.
